Segment 1:

Taking children to the doctor for their back-to-school check-ups can be stressful for kids and their parents. How do you prepare them? What do you say about getting shots and immunizations? And it is OK to promise kids a little reward after their doctor’s exam? Children’s Hospital's Jenni Evans, Assistant Director and Parent Educator, Parenting Center will be joining us with some great tips about how to ease your child’s anxiety at the doctor’s office and he’ll have some advice for parents to keep calm as well.

Segment 2:

The Daughters of Charity have provided compassionate health care in New Orleans for more than 180 years. With a recently renewed million-dollar grant from UnitedHealthcare, the Daughters of Charity Health Centers’ Care Fellowship Program will keep community health workers improving the coordination of local, culturally-competent social services for the underserved and uninsured. Director of Business Development and Community Engagement Zwena Randolph will be here to tell us more about the program and what kind of services it offers those in need.

Segment 3:  Community Health Heroes Report –  In our Community Health Heroes Report, we’ll take you to the Daughters of Charity Health Center headquarters and introduce you to the president and CEO.  Michael Griffin will tell us about the Centers’ upcoming name change and rebrand and how he and his team has improved patient outcomes and the patient experience in his 11 years with Daughters of Charity.

Segment 4: Eat Fit Nola  Cooking Segment - Top Box Foods Louisiana

In the kitchen, Chef Gioia of Top Box Foods Louisiana will prepare Pan Seared Chipotle Lime Salmon and Cabbage Slaw. We’ll learn about its Makin’ Groceries Program and its innovative supply chain model that delivers healthy and affordable grocery boxes to neighborhoods throughout New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Chef Gioia is joined by Director of Development Lauren Reyes, and registered dietician and nutritionist Lauren Hulin will tell us how and why Eat Fit NOLA teamed up with Top Box Foods Louisiana.
